It’s a miracle I tell you. An absolute miracle! I finished both of the 2nd Grade Good Morning Work packs for March BEFORE the final hour. Usually I am sweating and franticly trying to finish up the last pack on the final day of the month, but I am so ahead of the game. I can’t take all of the credit for this one though. I must give a huge shout out to the hubs for his work on our latest backyard addition – a French Drain (so fancy . . . I know). Anywho, while the cat is BUSY the mouse will CREATE!
I added new concepts into both of these sets and they cover so many Common Core Standards. Take a little look . . .
First up, I have the GMW Reading. I added author’s purpose into the mix this time. Not only do they have to determine if the passage was written to inform, persuade, or entertain, but they also have to explain why. This collection targets everything from contractions, quotations, and vowel teams to main idea, opinion writing, and cause + effect.
GMW Math is also a highly rigorous collection. In addition to the addition of arrays and a different spin on place value, I tossed in graphing this time too. It already covered dozens and dozens of standards . . . this just ups the ante a bit more for you and your babes!
For those of you who follow, you know that I “chunk” my concepts – target the same 6-8 standards for 5 days in a row. This is what makes these different from all of the other Morning Work packets out there. I believe that this allows students to feel much more successful and independent . . . leaving you time to teach it once (maybe twice to a few kids) and then go about YOUR morning business with little interruption.
Before I move on, I must thank my expert editor, Jenna from I’ve Got It Made In Second Grade. This lovely lady was actually using IM yesterday to help me catch all of my silly errors – now that’s what I call a sweet friend. She is a copy editing mastermind!!!! Can’t thank her enough ๐
Want to try Good Morning Work with your babes? Well, you are in LUCK . . . hehehehe . . . such a “March” thing to say. I am offering tester pages from both of these packets. Simply click on the images below to swipe one or both sets. If you like what you see, come on back and treat yourself to the whole pack. They are only $3 for a month of rigorous and meaningful learning!
Now, if you find that you REALLY like these, I now have School Year Bundles in my TPT store. You can snag a WHOLE YEAR of learning on deep discount (my favorite way to shop). Here’s the deal on these. I am making these as the school year progresses to ensure that I am hitting the Common Core needs as the year progresses (a pool of teachers are feeding me info on this one). Therefore, all of the packets are not yet in these bundles (April-June are coming soon). I will add the next month’s collection no later than the last weekend of every month – all you have to do is re-download the zip to snag the new file! This bundle is a $33 value . . . however, since not all of my work is included, I am going to make y’all a rockin’ deal. You can score all 11 packets now for a fraction of a cost . . . only $20! Prices will continue to rise as more files are added, so the sooner you grab them, the more $$$$$ you save ๐ Not too shabby, huh??
Alright, I am out of here . . . off to work on printables for a very silly cat. Oh and if you teach 1st grade, not to worry. I have Morning Work sets and tester pages for you too. Click here to check these out! Have a wonderful Sunday my friends. I will be back soon ๐ Hugs!

What a great deal!!! Just snagged them both thank you!! This work is amazing! I have told you before that I homeschool and these are a huge blessing in our home! I love that I can move my boys along, skip weeks, and that the math and reading are separate! My 7 year old is a whole year ahead in math and I love that he can stay where he is in reading but can blast ahead in math!! Keep up the good work!! Hope you do 3rd grade;)
