HAUNTINGLY GOOD FREEBIES + FEELING PATRIOTIC

October 19, 2012 by teacherideafactory

Hauntingly Good Freebies.  **SILENCE**  You know it has be good with a killer intro like that, right!?!  However, I best warn you before you get too far into the meat of this post.  I am in a mood.  I have been at my computer for hours and the cyber waves have fried my nut for shizzle.  I think I am funny and the B-A-D jokes are a rollin’ right off my tongue tonight (just ask the oh so patient hubs if you don’t believe me).  Now that the disclaimer is out of the way . . . read on at your own risk . . . but let me tempt you with . . .

Okay, so I couldn’t let a Freebie Friday slip past me without offering up a couple of goodies.  What can I say??  I just roll like that.  The first freebie is all “spookified!”  Is that a word?  If not, it should be!  I teamed up with the ever-sweet Ron Brown from Intelli-Tunes (ha . . . wink, wink) to bring you a free Halloween song and a little writing ditty.  Ron has offered up the cutest song for free download this week.  It’s called, “Trick or Treat!  It’s Halloween.”  I absolutely love this thing and I know my kids are going to freak with joy when they lay “ears” on it.  Just take a little listen for yourself . . .

Click PLAY to start and PAUSE to stop!

I can see my kids screaming already (frightened faces and all).  And, on top of this, I can REALLY SEE using this ditty to gain some awesome buy-in on a follow-up trick or treat writing activity.  Are you with me on this??  The kids are into anything and everything spooky right now, rizzzz-ite?  So, I have an idea. Let’s get ’em all jacked up with this fun song and then follow the excitement up with a writing assignment.  I bet we will get some pretty great work out of ’em with this one!  I left it open ended so you could do what you will with this . . . costume write, favorite thing about Halloween, trick or treat memories . . . the sky is the limit (just watch out for vampire bats).

A huge thank you to JW Illustrations and Hello Literacy – love your stuff.

Now I am also going to switch gears a bit on ya.  November is turning out to be a VERY patriotic month with both the Presidential Election and Veterans Day! So, I hooked up a coffee IV and got to work on a Patriotic Packet!  Well, I was able to focus like crazy and it’s finished (it only took two post-3pm showers to keep the creativity flowing).  Here is a little sneak peek and a freebie!

Alright folks, I am off to finish up my November Good Morning Work packets.  I will have the reading set up tomorrow (at the latest) and the math collection up by Sunday morning!  Thanks so much for visiting today!!

Oh . . . and as always, don’t forget to check out all of the amazing TBA freebies this week.  I already see a ton that I can’t wait to get my hands on 🙂
