Um . . . excuse me, June?? Really?? This blows me away. I have no idea where April and May went, but I sure ain’t complaining ๐ If you are still at it (I have 9 more days . . . but, who’s counting), you are most likely working your tail off to “keep the lid” on during this final run. Lord knows it ain’t easy this time of year.
One of the things I always do to fill an afternoon is work on a Father’s Day present. Dads typically get the short end of the stick when it comes to school coverage, so I try and slip it in before we break for summer. If you are looking to do the same {in an oh so easy way}?? Well, this packet may be just what you are looking for.
I am all about simple when it comes to crafts. So, I came up with two that not only celebrate dads, but also require very little prep and few copies.
The first gift craftivity is called Dad Jokes. We were always about stupid jokes in our family. I swear my pop has told me one in particular at least 200 times in the past 34 years . . . A horse walks into a bar and the bartender asks, “Why the long face.” Despite it’s overuse, this one still makes me giggle. With this said, I decided to roll this silly humor into a fun project that kids can really get behind. Students write three things that dad can do and one they can’t {the wilder the better}. This is then attached to a crazy paper tie that the kiddos create. Oh, and I tend have lots of sweet students with “family issues” every year, so I tossed in joke templates for dad, grandpa, uncle, and special friend. I don’t want to single these little babes out or leave them feeling left out.
