DAY TWO IN A NUTSHELL

August 22, 2012 by teacherideafactory

Word!  I am in teacher heaven!!!  My class is to die for.  Seriously . . . TO . . . DIE . . . FOR.  I thought with 23 I was going to be in for it this year, but to my surprise they are absolute dolls.  They are kind to one another.  They raise their hands.  They follow directions.  They clean like nobody’s business.  They try their best.  The list goes on and on and on!!!  We are takin’ it slow this week and really hitting on those procedures (pay me now or pay me later), but we have been having such fun.  Here’s a little crash course on our second day in good old Room 13!

I had ’em write their numbers to 100 for Good Morning Work . . . could have heard a pin drop ๐Ÿ™‚

Fun computer station today during roations . . . and they were quietly helping each other!  WOW!!
We did Ron Brown’s Rowing Song after lunch … they ate it up!
CLICK HERE to hear the song and read about how I use it in my classroom ๐Ÿ™‚

Before we practiced handwriting today, I had to let ’em break in their new white boards.
This helped them produce the most amazing upper and lowercase A’s ever . . . they bought right in!
Oh, and yes, those are old socks on the tables.  We use these as our erasers ๐Ÿ™‚

As you can see, we had a stellar day.  I know this post is mostly fluff, but I promise to be back on track in a couple of days with a fun and oh-so timely freebie.  As of this evening, I am just keepin’ my head above water . . . and trying to keep my eyes open through this post ๐Ÿ™‚  Thanks for visiting sweet friends.  I will see you soon.

I use the old socks for erasers, too! Keep the markers inside, and it makes it so much easier to keep everything together. The kids always think it's funny to use a sock!

I'm a little behind in my blogging, but this was timed right for me as I just finished my day two today:) Nothin' wrong (I think) with "mostly fluff" posts…we all like to hear and be reaffirmed that someone is doing roughly the same things we are, especially at first when you feel you're wasting sooo much time "rehearsing". I had 23 last year, and it was a nightmare! So happy to hear your year is off to a super start:)
