Well, hello. Thank you for taking the time to visit my home away from home. My Name is Kelley Dolling and I recently spent a delightful decade teaching in the primary classroom. After wrapping up a year in a coaching/curriculum position within my district in 2016, my struggle with endometriosis knocked me out of the conventional workday. Looking for a more flexible schedule, I decided to jump into contract-based education work. In addition to helping various schools in my area, I also spend much of my day developing new resources and activities for the K-5 classroom. Although I miss the kids and my own classroom dearly, this blogging and curriculum gig is right up my alley.
I didn’t begin my career as a teacher. I was in the marketing/public relations sector for five years before realizing that I missed my calling. My parents were both teachers and my dad is Ron Brown from Intelli-Tunes. You can probably say that teaching has ALWAYS been in my blood and it was inevitable that I would end up in the classroom.
Things that are a bit wild and out of the box are definitely the name of my game. I like to create activities that are highly rigorous, but also “sell the sizzle” of learning to kids. If I can hit a standard and produce a smile at the same time . . . I have earned my pay for the day.
As for my home life, I married my best friend and we laugh our way through every day. We also have FOUR fur babies (Henry, OK Kitty, Tilly, & Scruffy ). I love blogging and TPT, playing golf with anyone I can talk into walking the course with me, watching football (GO DUCKS AND BRONCOS), and causing trouble with my buddies.
Alright, so there you have it . . . a little more about me and my little life. Thanks for taking the time to drop in today. I hope you visit again soon.
