After Manning’s mind-blowing performance in the season opener on Thursday night, I can barely contain myself. Not only did I wish he was my boyfriend (sorry Travis), but hootin’ and hollerin’ at the boob tube made me forget about the chaos that just is this time of year. It’s silly . . I know. But, I am all about the pigskin. There is just something about lesson planning and school preppin’ in front of the TV on Sundays that eases my stress level and lowers my blood pressure (well, unless one of my fantasy guys scores or fails to convert). Oh, sweet football . . . you are definitely a win-win in my tattered playbook.

On that note, my class is launching into a football teamwork theme this week. We rocked out a baseball theme the first week of school that was a great way to lure them in and teach the power of working together. I figured rollin’ right into football was the logical move. I have been flyin’ with this theme for 4 years now and my kids love it (both the boys and girls . . . I always snag my girly-girls with with the whole cheerleader angle).
We completed our first football themed ditty on Friday and my football-playing boys started foaming at the mouth. Everyone was all smiles as their BIG 7th grade buddies helped them create our newest classroom window masterpiece.
Workin’ hard on our new number line. |
We are all different, but we are still a team 🙂 |
Excuse the glare. I love that my girls designed helmets with total fashion-sense!! |
If this seems like something you may be interested in, you can snag it for FREE in my TPT shop. It makes a great number display and the kids love that they get to play with tin foil.
This week we also will be tacklin’ pigskin-themed reading centers, math games, standards-based craftivities, team-building activities, and so much more . . .

What cute themed activities. Your boys (and some girls too!) must go nuts over a teacher who "lets" them do football activities!

Fun : ) Although, as I was scrolling through the pictures one of the crafts looked like how my 8-year-old makes guns and I had to do a double take. It gave me a chuckle : )
